Garik Terzian was born
in Yerevan, Armenia and began to study cello at the age of six with his father in former Czechoslovakia. Mr. Terzian continued his music education at Babadjanian College of music, followed by the Yerevan State Conservatory until moving to United States. Awarded a merit scholarship from the University of Southern California and USC Friends of Armenian Music, he continued his education at USC's Thornton School of Music under the direction of distinguished Professor Ronald Leonard, where he received Master of Music Degree in Cello Performance.
Mr. Terzian has performed extensively throughout the former Soviet Union, United States, Mexico, Spain, Ireland and Czech Republic. He has frequently appeared as a soloist with various orchestras including Armenian State Philharmonic Orchestra, Chihuahua Symphony Orchestra, Chihuahua Philharmonic Orchestra and New Valley Symphony Orchestra.
Mr. Terzian has performed in the Aram Khachaturian Music Festival in Spain and the Chamber Music Festival in Dublin, Ireland. He is the First Place winner of the Young Musicians Competition and Armenian Philharmonic Concerto Competition both in Yerevan, Armenia.
Mr. Terzian has made numerous recordings for Television and Radio Stations in the former Soviet Union, United States and Mexico. He has been featured in live radio broadcasts on KUSC "Sundays at Four", Los Angeles.
In addition to his solo activities, Mr. Terzian is also a devoted teacher. He is a faculty member at the Amuse Palos Verdes Music Center in Palos Verdes, California.

eelance orchestral and studio musician in the Los Angeles area. In addition to his many appearances on motion picture and television soundtracks, Jeff has recorded albums for nearly every major record label. As an orchestral musician, Jeff has performed with virtually every major symphony orchestra in Southern California and currently holds tenured positions with The Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, The New West Symphony, The Indian Wells Desert Symphony and the Antelope Valley Symphony.

Patricia Ryan, Glendale Philharmonic Orchestra cellist has been principal cellist in Sa
n Diego's foremost youth orchestras: the San Diego Youth Symphony, the Mt. Carmel High School Orchestra and various chamber ensembles within both organizations.
Patricia won First Prize in both the MTAC-San Diego Branch Concerto Competition and the MTAC-San Diego Branch VOCE Competition. She was also chosen to study chamber music with the internationally celebrated violin and cello duo Alice and Eleonore Schoenfeld under the Young Musicians' Foundation Chamber Music Program on full scholarship. Her teachers include world renowned Tchaikovsky Competition Laureate Nathanial Rosen, Ruslan Biryukov, Alexander Suleiman, Thomas Stauffer (San Diego State University), Viola Brown, and Catherine Godden.
Patricia has performed chamber music on Sundays Live, the longest running live classical music radio program in Los Angeles, broadcast live on K-Mozart and streamed live worldwide. She has soloed with the San Diego Civic Youth Orchestra and with the Mt. Carmel High School Orchestra. She has also performed internationally in Portugal and has also attended the Viana de Castello International Music Festival in the summer of 2008. She has most recently attended Alaska’s Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival on full scholarship, working closely with University of Northern Colorado faculty David Chew and Dr. Russell Guyver.
A native San Diegan, Patricia has also volunteered as a music therapist at the UCSD Medical Center where she enjoys bringing the joy of music to the ill and recovering patients.
Patricia is currently majoring in Cello Performance at the University of Southern California, Thornton School of Music in the studio of Professor Alexander Suleiman on full scholarship. As an undergraduate student at Thornton, Patricia has had the pleasure of working with acclaimed musicians Michael Tilson Thomas, John Williams, Larry Livingston, Carl St. Clair, Daniel Rothmuller, and Time for Three. She has also had the privilege of working with the Guarneri Quartet, Rio Trio, Takács Quartet, and the Aviv String Quartet under the instruction of Professor Peter Marsh. She has also been involved with the Grammy Foundation, performing with rock legends Jeff Beck and Sir Tom Jones in honor of Sir George Martin.
Patricia is currently performing on a Lucci bow provided by the Maestro Foundation.
August Lee ( 어거스트 이), Glendale
Philharmonic Orchestra Assistant Principal cellist was born into a family of prominent Korean musicians. For over a hundred years, his ancestors played a major role in influencing the music of South Korea. His great-grandfather Sun Yu Lee (이선유), the legendary singer, was the Founder of the Eastern Style of Traditional Korean Singing; his grandfather Jae Ho Lee (이재호) was a celebrated folk music composer, and his father Beom Seung (이범승) is a successful Vienna educated conductor and composer. Mr. Lee started his professional musical education at the age of 5 studying piano. When he was 8, he saw Janos Starker playing the cello and fell in love with the instrument. The “cellistic” demands of the child found support from his parents, and August began studying with the Principal cellist of Kyung Sang Symphony Orchestra, Ms. Noh Sunhee, at the PENIEL School of the Arts. At the same time, he was taking lessons with the prominent Polish cellist Professor Kazimierz Michalik of the Warsaw Chopin Conservatory.
At the age of 18, Mr. Lee played for Kirill Rodin, the international Tchaikovsky Competition Gold Medal winner and received an invitation to continue his education at the Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory. Mr. Lee graduated from the Moscow Conservatory in 2008 and received a Master of Music degree with the qualification as cello soloist and teacher. Among his teachers in Moscow were legendary musicians Tatiana Gaidamovich, Dimitri Shebalin and Alexander Bonduriansky. His primary cello teacher has been Professor Kirill Rodin. Currently he is a student in the studio of Ruslan Biryukov.
Maksim Velichkin, Glendale Philharmonic Orchestra Principal cellist
enjoys a broad musical life of a cellist, collaborative pianist, and harpsichordist both locally and throughout the world. He has appeared as a soloist with Uzbekistan National Symphony, Duquesne Contemporary Ensemble, Verbier Festival Symphony Orchestra AYS, Torrance, Westchester, Southeast and Bellflower symphony orchestras. He has extensively toured Europe, Asia, both Americas and Australia with the prestigious Verbier Chamber and Symphony Orchestras as a principal cellist. He has collaborated with a number of prominent conductors and instrumentalists: James Levine, Kurt Masur, Charles Dutoit, Yuri Temirkanov, Wolfgang Sawallish, Herbert Blomstedt, Christoph von Dohnanyi, Neemi and Paavo Yarvi, Sarah Chang, Maxim Vengerov ( EMI recording project), Yuri Bashmet, Joshua Bell and others.
Recent highlights of Maksim's concert life include performances with singer Bobby McFerrin in Switzerland (Vivaldi Double Concerto), pianist Gabriela Montero in Mexico (Dvorak Piano Quintet), performances in Carnegie Hall in Pittsburgh (J.S.Bach Concerto for Two Pianos) and appearances on the prestigious Miyazaki Music Festival in Japan (Mendelssohn Octet). In addition, he has been active in the popular music scene performing and recording with Bitter: Sweet, Stevie Wonder, Josh Groban, John Legend, Red Elvises, Bernadette Peters and many others. Maksim's improvised harpsichord & cello music was included into the soundtrack of the film "Through The Air To Calais Or The Wonderful Cruise Of Blanchard's Balloon"(2009).
Mr. Velichkin has begun his music education at the Special Music School for Gifted Children in his native Tashkent, Uzbekistan. In 1996 he was awarded a full scholarship to pursue Bachelor of Music degree in cello performance at the Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, US. In 2000 he graduated with honors, Magna cum Laude. He continued his education at the University of Southern California at the studio of the renowned professor E. Schoenfeld. In 2006 Maksim earned his Master's Degree.
Kate Vincent, Glendale Philharmonic violist is originally from Perth, Wester
n Australia. Ms. Vincent recently moved to Los Angeles from Boston where she still maintains positions as Artistic Director /Violist of the Firebird Ensemble, Principal Violist of Opera Boston and Associate Principal violist of the Boston Modern Orchestra Project. In addition, Ms. Vincent has appeared as Principal Violist with numerous East Coast ensembles including Emmanuel Music, Opera Aperta and Opera Unlimited. As a chamber musician, she has performed with the Apple Hill Chamber Players, Alea 3, Chameleon Ensemble, Callithumpian Consort, Dinosaur Annex, the Fromm Foundation players at Harvard, Quartet X, Winsor Music and on Emmanuel Music's Chamber series. Between 1999-2003 she was also violist of the Arden String Quartet.
As a chamber musician specializing in contemporary music, Ms. Vincent has performed extensively in Australia, Canada, Germany, Holland, Russia and throughout the United States. Ms. Vincent has premiered chamber and solo works by Luciano Berio, John Harbison, Lee Hyla, John McDonald, Joseph Maneri and recorded for labels such as BMOP sound, Tzadik, New World, Oxingale and Steeplechase. In 2006, Ms. Vincent was invited to join the faculty at the Longy School of Music as co-director of the new music ensemble, Longitude. Ms. Vincent holds a double Masters Degree from New England Conservatory in Viola Performance and Music Education where she studied with James Dunham of the Cleveland Quartet.
Shushan Akopyan, Glendale Philh
armonic Orchestra violinist began studying music at a very young age. After graduating from the Tchaikovsky Music School, she was immediately accepted into the Armenian State Conservatory.
Soon after graduation she was invited to join the Armenian State Philharmonic Orchestra touring worldwide and performing in the greatest concert halls (over 20 countries). She has worked with world famous conductors such as Valery Gergiev, Vladimir Spivakov and David Khangian.
Curently Shushan is a member of the Redland’s Symphony, Torrance Symphony and Fresno Philharmonic Orchestras. She also performs extensively in various chamber music projects.
Levon Mkrtchyan, Glendale Ph
ilharmonic Orchestra violinist was born in Yerevan, Armenia. He began his musical journey at the age of 8. He graduated from Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory with Master’s of Music degree and later pursued a Post-Graduate degree in String Quartet studies.
In 1989, Mkrtchyan won the first prize and got the highest honors in the Armenian State Violin Competition. He won the Assistant Principal position in the Armenian National Chamber Orchestra in 1995, and as such toured Europe, Asia, the USA, Canada, Russia, France, Germany, England, Switzerland, Cyprus, Greece and Lebanon.
In September of 2009, Mkrtchyan immigrated to the United States and resides in Los Angeles.
Laura Pearson, Glendale Philharmonic O
rchestra principal violist has toured and performed as a chamber musician, an orchestral player and a soloist worldwide. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Viola Performance from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and Master’s of Music degree at the USC as a full scholarship recipient.
Last year, Pearson was appointed Principal Violist and soloist with the Chamber Orchestra of the South Bay. Pearson performs with the Long Beach Symphony, Santa Cecilia Orchestra and The New West Symphony among others. She has played as Principal of the USC Symphony Orchestra, the Golden State Pops Orchestra and was Principal Violist of both the American Youth Symphony and formerly of the YMF Debut Orchestra.
Festival performances include appearances at the Sarasota Music Festival, the Banff Festival, Colorado Music Festival, Oberlin in Italy, Killington Music Festival and Centrum Music Festival. She performed chamber music with the violinist Midori and has been a studio musician in Hollywood, performing in movies and on soundtracks for films such as The Soloist with Jamie Fox.
Hovhannes Meghrikyan, Gle
ndale Philharmonic Orchestra principal second violinist, started playing violin when he was only seven. After spending seven years in the Chukadjian Music School, he was accepted to the prestigious Yerevan city Music College. Mr. Meghrikyan graduated from Komitas Conservatory with honors in 1980.
Being only 16 years old Hovhannes performed Aram Khachatryan’s Song Poem for the composer and later received an award for his outstanding performance of the piece. Same year brought successful debut performance with the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra (Spanish Symphony by E.Lalo) followed by the invitations to join Armenian State Chamber and Philharmonic Orchestras.
Active performer Mr. Meghrikyan intense concert schedule included performances throughout the world, with appearances in such prestigious venues as Carnegie Hall in New York, Boston Symphony Hall, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington DC, and many others.
Mr. Meghrikyan resides in Los Angeles since 2000 and enjoys sharing his art with audiences from all walks of life.
Edgar
Sandoval, Glendale Philharmonic Orchestra Violinist a native of Los Angeles, is a vibrant artist acclaimed for his passionate and virtuosic performances. Known for his work as a concert violinist and local composer, he has performed with many regional orchestras and world class artists and legends.
Edgar has studied violin with: Ludmila Adzhemova, Michael Ferril. Assa Drori, Routa Kroumovitch, Mihailo Krstic, and Nickolai Kurganov. He has performed with John Williams, Kent Nagano, Michael Tilson-Thomas, David Newman, Alan Silvestri, Joanna Carnerio, William Stromberg, Mort Garson, Lynn Harrell, Vadim Gluzman, Grigory Kalinovsky, Sir James Galway, Sarah Chang, Elizabeth Pitcairn, and Roger Wilkie.
He has played/collaborated with Foo Fighters, Marco Antonio Solis, Bitter:Sweet, Echocell, A Fine Frenzy, The Minor Canon, Rohani, Michael Feinstein, and Katherine McPhee. Alongside his career as a violinist/composer he was featured on Disney's 2002 reality television show "Totally in Tune" expressing the lives of students in a high school orchestra at the premiere Hamilton Music Academy.
Some of his writing credits include the film American Crude with Rob Schneider and a short film The Book of Tomorrow. Edgar currently plays on an 1885 Riccardo Antoniazzi.
Limor Toren, Glendale Philharmo
nic Orchestra's Concertmaster has won numerous regional and national competitions and has appeared as soloist with orchestras throughout Ru ssia, Israel, and the United States. Her concert career has additionally taken her through France, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Spain, Egypt, the Canary Islands, Japan, and Canada. She has recently performed the American premiere of Leonid Desyatnikov’s Russian Seasons, and violin concerti of Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Vivaldi, and Bach as well as major chamber music recitals in collaboration with Bernadene Blaha, Kevin Fitz-Gerald, Patrick Gallois, and many others. She has performed under the batons of Zubin Mehta, Kurt Mazur, Michael Tilson-Thomas, and Charles Dutoit; and, in support of Mstislav Rostropovich, Isaac Stern, Emanuel Ax, and Evgeny Kissin.
Currently Ms. Toren-Immerman is on the faculty at California State University Fresno, and Shepherds University School of Music. She was invited to join the Luther College music faculty in Decorah, Iowa as a visiting Assistant Professor of Music for the 2004-2005 academic year. She also serves as Concertmistress for Glendale Philharmonic Orchestras, West Covina Symphony and Mozart Classical Orchestra. Mr. Toren-Immermann holds also positions of the Assistant Concertmistress for the Chamber Orchestra of South Bay, Assistant Principal for the New West Symphony Orchestra, and performs with Pacific Symphony, Long Beach Symphony, and California Philharmonic.
As a diverse chamber music player, Ms. Toren-Immerman performs music from Baroque to the twenty first century and is a member of the Alto Polis Trio, “Synergy” chamber ensemble, “Music of Changes,” and Chamber Music Consortium.
Ms. Toren-Immerman began her formal musical education in Russia, at the Moscow Gnessins College of Music. She holds Bachelor of Music and Artist Diploma from Jerusalem Rubin Academy of Music and Dance, Israel, and Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees from University of Southern California Thornton School of Music. She has held principal positions in the USC Thornton Symphony and Chamber Orchestras, the Young Musicians Foundation Debút Orchestra, and the American Youth Symphony and was an USC Thornton School of Music Outstanding Graduate both for her Master and Doctoral degrees.
Throughout her career, Ms. Toren-Immerman has been distinguished and honored: the USC Associates Musical Scholars Award, the USC Chamber Orchestra Ensemble Award, the Baroness Leni Fe Bland Award, and the H.I.A.S. Award. She was also the recipient of the America-Israel Cultural Foundation Scholarship and Jascha Heifetz Endowed Violin Scholarship.
